oak framed mirror commission

A recent commission for some Oak framed mirrors, one measuring 1.5 meters x 1 meter. Made from Solid Cornish Oak, the size and weight involved meant traditional lap joints were needed to ensure the frame was up to the job. These joints provide a larger area for the sections of frame to join and provide an attractive feature. The finished frame was lemon oiled to highlight the grain and colour of the Cornish Oak before the mirror, from local firm Redruth Glass, was fitted. Contact us if you need a custom mirror.
